Kuzu zangpo & Hello!

A PERSONAL NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

Meet the Heart Behind the Journey

I am Jangchup Tsering — born and raised in Bhutan, and the founder of Jambayang Travel.

I’ve walked these trails, met countless travelers, and shared Bhutan’s beauty in many forms. But it’s the quiet, intentional journeys that have stayed with me.

This is what I now offer: a way of traveling that’s honest, soulful, and deeply Bhutanese.

Thank you for being here. I look forward to walking with you.

Our Philosophy

For years, Jambayang Travel Service ran like most other travel companies — checking off destinations, racing from one sight to another.

But somewhere along the way, we realized something important: travel should not feel rushed. It should feel rooted.

So we paused. We reimagined. And we chose a slower, more meaningful path — one that gives travellers space to breathe, reflect, and truly connect with Bhutan.

We Believe in Deep Travel

Deep travel means going beyond the photo and into the feeling.

It’s sharing a quiet lunch in a village, lighting a butter lamp in a centuries-old temple, and walking through forests without needing to say a word.

It’s choosing slowness, connection, and depth — over schedules, crowds, and busyness.

Why Travel with Jambayang?

At Jambayang, we don’t just take you to Bhutan—we help you experience it in a way that feels grounded, meaningful, and deeply human. Our journeys are designed with care, intention, and heart.

How We Travel:

  • Just two curated journeys per month, so nothing feels rushed or routine
  • Small groups of no more than 7, allowing for personal connection and shared quiet
  • Unhurried pacing with built-in moments of stillness and spaciousness
  • Deep local engagement—we don’t just sightsee; we sit, walk, share, and listen
  • Time for reflection, journaling, and silence, woven into your itinerary
  • Thoughtful stays at locally owned lodges or traditional Bhutanese homes
It’s not just travel. It’s travel with intention.

Why Bhutan Takes a Different Approach!

Bhutan is not your average destination and it’s not meant to be.
Rooted in a philosophy of High Value, Low Volume, travel to Bhutan is designed to be intentional, immersive, and community-supported. Rather than mass tourism, Bhutan welcomes guests through a guided model that prioritizes connection, culture, and care.

Bhutan’s tourism model reflects its values:

  • All travellers must book through a licensed Bhutanese tour operator
  • A Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) applies to every visitor
  • Itineraries are carefully designed to foster authenticity and reflection
  • Group sizes are kept small to protect local environments and experiences

This approach ensures that each visit directly supports Bhutan’s healthcare, education, and environmental conservation efforts.
